Joey Lucchesi Impresses At Coors Field
6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Joey Lucchesi posted a quality start Thursday against the Colorado Rockies, allowing two earned runs over six frames. Lucchesi was in-line for the victory but was victimized by the Padres bullpen. He yielded five hits and a walk while fanning six. The outing nudges his ERA down to 3.74 and WHIP to 1.29 to accompany a solid 9.6 K/9 over 98 2/3 innings. The rookie southpaw has been impressive this season and while he doesn’t have an explicit innings cap, a DL stint earlier in the year could allow him to pitch through season’s end. With a 2.89 ERA on the road and 4.26 ERA at home, Lucchesi belongs on all streamer radars. A showdown at Petco Park against the Seattle Mariners awaits next Wednesday.
