Wayne Gallman Pushing Hard For More Work
7 years agoNew York Giants running back Wayne Gallman reportedly impressed the coaching staff with his work in the most recent preseason game against the Detroit Lions, and his strong training camp and preseason is clouding the role of newcomer and veteran Jonathan Stewart. Gallman posted 476 rushing yards on 111 carries in 2017, and he added 193 yards on 34 receptions, showing some nice versatility. Gallman is pushing hard for the primary backup job to rookie Saquon Barkley, and he could potentially push the oft-injured Stewart to the back burner sooner rather than later. The former Clemson standout is looking like the more attractive handcuff to Barkley right now.

Wayne Gallman Signs With Seahawks
2 years agoThe Seattle Seahawks signed veteran running back Wayne Gallman to their practice squad on Tuesday with rookie Kenneth Walker III (ankle) dealing with an ankle injury, according to a source. Gallman hasn't seen action in an NFL game this year despite being on the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad earlier this season. Seattle also has Travis Homer, DeeJay Dallas and Tony Jones Jr. on the RB depth chart, but Homer (didn't play in Week 13) and Dallas are also banged up with injuries, so the Seahawks needed more depth at the position heading into their Week 14 clash against the Carolina Panthers. The 28-year-old Gallman could be active for the first time this weekend, depending on the health of the other RBs, but he won't be a realistic fantasy option.

Wayne Gallman Not Expected To Join Ravens
3 years agoFree-agent running back Wayne Gallman had a workout with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday. The organization also had Corey Clement workout for the team. They eventually decided to sign Clement to a deal. He's expected to serve as depth in the crowded Ravens backfield. The fact that the Ravens signed Clement means that they will likely won't pursue Gallman. The 27-year-old had a limited role in the Atlanta Falcons backfield last season. Before that, Gallman saw success with the New York Giants during the 2020 campaign. Possibly, Gallman gets a chance with another organization before the season begins. Regardless, it's unlikely that Gallman or Clement will make an impact in fantasy football.

Wayne Gallman Claimed Off Waivers By Vikings
3 years agoMinnesota Vikings running back Alexander Mattison has been placed on the COVID-19 list. That means, Kene Nwangwu is the only available back behind Dalvin Cook. That being said, the Vikings decided to claim Wayne Gallman off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons. This season, Gallman has 104 yards on 28 attempts, so there's not a ton of upside here. Fantasy managers should expect Cook to carry a bigger workload in Week 15. Gallman might see a few carries if active, but he's not worth rostering.

Wayne Gallman A Healthy Scratch Sunday
3 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Wayne Gallman is a healthy scratch in Week 13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gallman will be the odd-man out with Qadree Ollison coming up once again from the practice squad to join the active roster. He's been mostly the third running back in 2021 behind Cordarrelle Patterson and Mike Davis, carrying the ball only 28 times for 104 yards (3.7 yards per carry) while catching one pass for 21 yards in six games played. Ollison was featured as Atlanta's primary back two weeks ago in the blowout loss to the New England Patriots, but that occurred with Patterson sitting out due to an ankle injury. Ollison could see some work against the Buccaneers top-ranked rush defense, but it'll likely come at the expense of Davis.
