Thomas Pannone Carries No-Hitter Into Seventh Inning Against Orioles
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays rookie pitcher Thomas Pannone was fantastic in his first career start on Wednesday afternoon. Pannone carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning before Trey Mancini singled. Regardless, it would be the only hit that Pannone allowed as he went seven scoreless with three strikeouts and two walks. The Blue Jays offense also came through and allowed him to pick up his first career win. It seems likely that Pannone will earn another start after this gem of a performance, but expectations should be tempered from fantasy managers. The good thing is that his next appearance would come against the same Orioles team he just dominated, so perhaps he could be a serviceable streaming option.
