ANALYSIS: Hopefully, most of you sharps are part of the 20 percentage points of growth in ownership for Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani over this past week. It turns out that yielding two earned over a span of three starts that last at least seven frames is a great thing. Who knew?
He was owned in far more leagues two years ago before getting hurt and losing all of 2017, and now the rust may finally be off. Disco has pitched seven innings in each of his last three starts, allowing no more than one earned run in any of those appearances.
He does have a tough assignment at Wrigley Field next, but his performance of late warrants a pickup even if you choose to bench him for that spot. The 28-year-old could do more in the way of strikeouts, 16 in 21 2/3 innings this month, but he is a good addition in deeper leagues.
