Jordan Poyer Could Be Set For A Breakout
6 years agoBuffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer was recently featured in ESPN's Breakout Players for all 32 NFL Teams. Poyer was an intricate part of a very aggressive defense last season and, in his first year with the Bills, had the best season of his career. Before coming to Buffalo, Poyer was not anything spectacular. The only season that he registered a sack or interception was 2015 with the Browns, notching only one and two respectively. His last season with the Browns (2016), he registered his highest total tackles with only 39. The move to Buffalo in 2017 turned out to be a good one for Poyer. In 15 games, Poyer went off for 95 total tackles, two sacks, and five interceptions. He also accounted for 13 passes defended and a forced fumble. This puts Poyer into elite status, as he ranked second amongst all safeties in IDP production. If Poyer improves again for 2018, the Bills will have one of the more exciting defenses in the league.
