Injured Kyle Williams Considered Week-To-Week
6 years agoBuffalo Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams (knee) has a better outlook after it has been confirmed that there is no ACL tear. This at least brings the possibility of a return for the 2018 season. Bills head coach Sean McDermott is calling this a "week-to-week" situation. The Bills will call upon rookie third-round pick Harrison Phillips to fill the vacated position. It won't be an easy task, as Williams has been a consistent veteran leader for the organization. In 2013, he had his best season with 10.5 sacks and 68 combined tackles. More recently in 2016, Williams had 64 tackles and five sacks. Just last year, his 12th and least productive season, he only registered 41 tackles and three sacks. This is yet another setback to the defensive line, as Trent Murphy (groin) and Marquavius Lewis (ankle) are already nursing ailments. Newly-signed Tyruun Walker and Albert Havili will have to step up. This leads us to believe that more signings could be in store in the not-so-distant future.
