Kelvin Benjamin Projects as a Good Value Play
6 years agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin is the clear No. 1 receiver in Buffalo. This seems fairly obvious. Drafters, however, may be weary of the fact that the Bills will be either starting a rookie gunslinger at quarterback or the not-so-exciting Nathan Peterman. These are valid points against Benjamin, but there is also a lot to like. We can't forget about the mismatches Benjamin's 6-foot-5, 245-pound frame creates. Josh Allen and Peterman will do well in finding Benjamin as a safer option to go to when under duress. More times than not, Benjamin's big body type will create an easier target to find than others. Whoever the Bills decide to go with at QB, Benjamin should retain the same value. The other receivers on the Bills roster shouldn't cut into his value either, at best, as those are options to stretch the field if nothing else. It appears that Benjamin and tight end Charles Clay are players we should focus on as fantasy relevant when it comes to the passing attack. The only possible setback in the forecast for Benjamin is his lack of durability. From 2014 until 2017, Benjamin has played a full 16 games twice. 2015 was wiped out completely, while last season was cut short to eight games.
