BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 13% of leagues
ANALYSIS: It has been a rough road for Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marco Estrada over the last month or so. He has allowed at least four earned runs in three of his last four starts and has struck out five batters, or more, only once in the last six appearances. Posting a 6-9 record with a 4.87 ERA, Estrada has only punched out 83 batters in 112 2/3 innings after whiffing 341 batters in 362 innings over the last two seasons.
However, hopefully, the opponents will get easier this week as the Orioles and Phillies are on the docket. Both teams are in the top 10 in team strikeouts and in the bottom 11 in runs scored this season. Baltimore is also 26th in team wOBA (.301) against right-handed pitchers this year. While he is not the best of options in shallow leagues, two home matchups against lesser opponents puts him on the radar in deeper leagues.
