Jordan Zimmermann Struggles in Loss
6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann was looking to earn his third straight quality start heading into Wednesday's contest with the Chicago White Sox. The end results, however, weren't pretty. Zimmermann made it through five innings but allowed six earned runs on nine hits, giving up homers to sluggers Matt Davidson and Jose Abreu in the process. He also struck out four and walked none, but this is obviously a disappointing result against a bottom-10 offense that strikes out with the league's best teams. Zimmermann falls to 5-5, holds a 4.36 ERA, and should only be considered in very deep or AL-only fantasy leagues.
