7 years agoThe Detroit Red Wings inked restricted free agent forward Dylan Larkin to a five-year contract with an AAV of $6.1 million. The 22-year-old scored 16 goals and a team-high 63 points last season. A 20-goal scorer as a rookie, Larkin looks poised to return to the 20-goal club and be a leader on this Detroit team for the next five years. Larkin may line up as the Red Wings top center, as captain Henrik Zetterberg’s back issues may hold him out of competition to start the 2018-19 season. Larkin is an attractive fantasy asset, he’s an important piece of the offense and will get plenty of ice time in all situations.--Kevin Acorn

3 months agoDetroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin tallied a goal and an assist during Sunday's victory over the Seattle Kraken. Larkin tallied the primary assist on Marco Kasper's fourth goal of the season in the opening frame. Later in the second, Larkin would score on the power-play on a snap shot. This was Larkin's fourth multi-point outing in his previous five games. Larkin has only been held off the scoresheet once over his previous eight contests. During this span, Larkin has tallied 11 points (six goals, five helpers), seven of which came on the power-play. During this stretch, Larkin has averaged 4.25 shots on goal per game while seeing top minutes in the Detroit offense. The 28-year-old remains a must-start player in all formats while he continues this productive stretch.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

5 months agoDetroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin played a pivotal role in Wednesday's 4-1 win at Chicago. The Red Wings captain logged two points in the contest, helping Alex DeBrincat to start the scoring in the first period and netting the game-winning tally in the second frame. It was Larkin's second consecutive multi-point outing. He has hit top gear lately by amassing five points in three games, doubling his tally for the season. Despite ensuring a dry spell recently, Larkin leads the Red Wings with eight goals and has recorded two assists in 12 games. He faces one of his favorite opponents next, entering a matchup against the Maple Leafs with 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists) in 28 career games against them. Larkin has scored more points only versus the Sabres (29).--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

5 months agoDetroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin found the back of the net twice in their victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday evening. The Detroit captain tied the game on a power-play goal in the second frame. Later in the third, the Michigan native would break the stalemate by scoring his second goal of the evening, once again on the man advantage. Through his first 11 games this season, Larkin has tallied eight points, seven of which were goals. In addition, he sits with a minus-three rating with 30 shots on goal, six hits, and four blocked shots. Fantasy managers should continue to rely on Larkin as a safe bet for offensive output, as he should continue to play on the top line alongside Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

9 months agoDetroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin has undergone surgery for an upper-body injury, general manager Steve Yzerman announced on Friday. Yzerman added that the Red Wings captain is expected to be fully ready for the start of training camp in September. Larkin had a big year in 2023-24 with a career-high 33 goals and 69 points in 68 appearances. It was his first time averaging at least a point per game for a season, while Larkin enjoyed a third consecutive campaign with 30-plus goals. The American pivot should be capable of even more if he stays clear of health issues in 2024-25.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
