6 years agoCincinnati Reds star first baseman Joey Votto (knee) is absent from Saturday's starting lineup. Votto has been dealing with some soreness in his right knee after he was struck by a pitch last Saturday. Brandon Dixon will be getting the start at first base and batting sixth in his absence. Votto has now missed four of the Reds' past six games. One has to wonder if a disabled list stint will be required if the knee does not show any improvement in the next few days. The Toronto native has had a down year by his lofty standards. He is carrying a .289 average, nine home runs, and 53 RBI across 394 at-bats.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
