BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 29% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Baltimore Orioles first baseman/outfielder Trey Mancini came busting into the league in 2017 hitting .293 with 24 HR and 78 RBI. He was given a hard dose of reality in 2018, as he is hitting a terribly low .231, pulled down partially due to a .271 BABIP. No matter his issues, though, he still has 16 home runs and is an undoubted boost to power numbers.
If there is a silver lining, it is that Mancini has shown some signs of life recently, as he has a hit in three straight games and had extra-base hits in two of those games. Since the All-Star break, Mancini is slashing .296/.324./.507, clubbing four home runs, scoring 10 runs, and knocking in 10 batters as well. Furthermore, Mancini has a hard hit ball rate of 42.1% and is hitting 24.6% line drives. A 49.1% ground ball rate has kept his BABIP at .321, but there are signs of a breakout.
The Orioles offense has been surprisingly good since trading Manny Machado and Jonathan Schoop and Mancini could be in for a hot close to the 2018 season. Considering how good Mancini was last season, he is worth a pickup in all formats and could a starter in deeper formats.
