Tommy Fleetwood Is Searching For Breakthrough Win
6 years agoTommy Fleetwood is starting to cement himself into the conversation as the best player yet to win a major. The Englishman is a four-time winner on the European Tour but outside of just major championship wins, Fleetwood has also failed to capture a title inside of the United States so far in his career. This week at the PGA Championship, the 27-year-old will attempt to accomplish both of those things at the same time. In Fleetwood's last 50 rounds compared to the field, he ranks sixth in strokes gained off the tee and 21st in fairways gained. The combination of those two statistics could prove to be vital for a course that is going to require length and accuracy off of the tee. If Bellerive produces a first-time major winner, Fleetwood will be one of the favorites to etch his name on the Wanamaker trophy.
