Sabres Acquire Jeff Skinner From Carolina
6 years agoThe Buffalo Sabres have completed a trade that will bring left winger Jeff Skinner to Buffalo in exchange for prospect Cliff Pu and three draft picks. Scheduled to be a free agent next year, Skinner will join a retooled Sabres top six with an eye on returning to be a 30-goal scorer after scoring at a 0.29 goals-per-game pace last season, which was the second lowest of his career. Over the last three years, Skinner has scored 74 even strength goals, which is the seventh most in the league over that time and tied with Connor McDavid. Now with Buffalo, who has converted on 20.7 percent of their power-plays compared to Carolina's mark of 17.6 percent over the last three years, Skinner could also see an increase in his points on the power-play. Overall Skinner was due for a bounce-back season after only shooting 8.7 percent, but now that he is likely to be playing with Jack Eichel on Buffalo's top line his fantasy value only increases more.
