Austin Hedges Powers Padres Past Cubs
6 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Austin Hedges launched a three-run homer to carry his team to victory Thursday against the Chicago Cubs. Hedges finished the evening 3-for-4 with a walk. The blast was his seventh of the season and third in his last six games. Hedges is batting .360 in his last 25 at-bats (nine hits) and .333 since the beginning of July, raising his average from .176 to .244. Widely available in fantasy leagues, he's a viable option for managers playing the hot hand at the backstop position.
