6 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer has been traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Both Tyler Glasnow and Austin Meadows appear to be headed in the opposite direction, along with a third piece which has not yet been announced. Archer had been due to pitch Thursday for the Rays, but with the Pirates off on Thursday it may be Friday that he makes his debut. Archer's fantasy owners will be hoping that a new team can help Archer improve in what has been the worst year of his career since he was a rookie. Archer has a 4.31 ERA with 102 strikeouts in 96 innings this season.--Ben Rolfe
