Twins Acquire Tyler Austin and Luis Rijo
6 years agoThe Minnesota Twins have added utility man Tyler Austin and pitching prospect Luis Rijo from the New York Yankees. Austin is batting .223 with eight home runs and 23 RBI in 132 plate appearances this season. He is under club control until 2022. It seems likely that Austin will split time with Logan Morrison at first base for the remainder of the season, but he may be able to achieve a starting role in 2019. He was a fairly hyped prospect in the Yankees system just a few years ago, and could perhaps benefit from a change of scenery. Regardless, his fantasy value is minimal at best. As for Rijo, he did not rank in the Yankees top 30 prospects. He has been average at Low-A and High-A this season. He should not be on any fantasy radar.
