Brendan Rodgers Promoted To Triple-A
6 years agoColorado Rockies top prospect Brendan Rodgers was promoted to Triple-A on Sunday after hitting .275 with 17 home runs and 12 stolen bases in Double-A. The 21-year-old is rocking an impressive 16% HR/FB rate that has stayed consistent from Single-A, a sub-20% strikeout rate, and the best stolen base rate of his career as he's only been caught three times so far this season. Rodgers has logged most of his time at shortstop, but he's also spent a decent number of games at second or third base. With Colorado starting All-Stars at shortstop and third base, Rodgers' best bet for playing time in 2019 is at second, but he'll have plenty of competition of his own there with Garrett Hampson and possibly DJ LeMahieu (if the team decides to re-sign him). Rodgers is still Colorado's best prospect, and he should show prodigious power in Albuquerque.
