Manuel Margot Riding Eight-Game Hitting Streak
6 years agoThe San Diego Padres have struggled lately, but outfielder Manuel Margot is riding an eight-game hitting streak. Margot went deep for his fourth homer en route to a 2-for-4 night Friday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Margot has 12 hits in 28 at-bats (.429 batting average) during his streak with four extra-base hits, lifting his slash to a season-high .255/.318/.386. While he's been inefficient on the basepaths (9-for-16), Margot has been successful in his last three attempts. He has batted all around the Padres lineup from leadoff to seventh and will hit atop the order Saturday night against Diamondbacks starter Patrick Corbin. He's hitting .235 in 17 career at-bats against Corbin but could be worth a flyer in daily leagues. However, due to the Padres offensive woes, Margot remains just a low-end fantasy option.
