Adam Ottavino Vultures Save On Friday
6 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Adam Ottavino took the highest profile role on Friday night by closing out the ninth inning of a 3-1 win against Oakland. Manager Bud Black told reporters that he wanted to give normal closer Wade Davis an extra day off, so Ottavino got the call. Ottavino threw a clean inning to pick up his second save in the last 10 days. He seems to have gotten his wildness under control once again, so Ottavino is back to being on of the most dominant relievers in the game. However, his control problems have already cropped up once this year, so owners should love the good times while staying prepared for the possibility of more bad times ahead.
