Sonny Gray Records Win, Will Get X-Ray
6 years agoNew York Yankees right-hander Sonny Gray recorded his eighth victory of the season Thursday night in the Bronx, although it would end on a sour note. The 28-year-old took a come-backer off his non-pitching hand in the fifth, prompting manager Aaron Boone and the training staff to emerge from the dugout. While he would finish the inning, Gray would not return, heading to the clubhouse while still looking uneasy over his hand. His final line saw him go five scoreless innings, striking out five and recording just two walks. Following the game, Boone said he would go for x-rays, but Gray himself admitted he fully expects to make his next start.
