One Pitch Spoils Luis Cessa’s Outing
6 years agoNew York Yankees spot starter Luis Cessa was about as good as his club could’ve hoped for Wednesday afternoon in Tampa Bay. The 26-year-old breezed through the first five innings of the game, holding on to a slim, one-run lead as his offense struggled to produce runs. In the sixth, however, he put one runner on and surrendered a two-run home run, sealing his fate as his offense couldn't produce. This performance came in the aftermath of his six shutout innings in his last start. The right-hander is likely to not have other chances to make impressions as a starter, with the Yankees likely to make at least one move to bolster their rotation before the trade deadline.
