Domingo German Optioned To Triple-A
6 years agoAfter Friday night’s disappointing performance in defeat to the New York Mets, New York Yankees starting pitcher Domingo German was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The New York Yankees will not continue with just four pitchers, as Luis Cessa is set to take his spot in the starting rotation. Cessa is likely to be just a temporary replacement, however, as the club searches for a starting pitcher in the trade market. They do, have an option from within their minor league system, and that would be Justus Sheffield. The 22-year-old has made 10 starts at Triple-A this season, striking out 56 batters in 57 innings and posting a 2.53 ERA in the process. After his next scheduled start Saturday, he seems the best option in the system to fill the final rotation spot.
