Domingo German Ineffective Against Mets
6 years agoComing out of the All-Star break, the New York Yankees’ need for another starting pitcher was only exacerbated on Friday night. Domingo German, the No. 5 pitcher in the rotation, lasted only 3 2/3 innings, surrendering four runs on five hits with two walks and a strikeout. His disappointing outing was sealed with a solo home run allowed in the third. German’s first-inning woes continue to be a huge problem, as he’s now allowed 14 runs and 15 hits in 13 first innings this year. The Yankees simply can’t afford to continue having performances like these if they’re going to remain in the division race against the Boston Red Sox.
