Xander Bogaerts Seeks to Continue Hot Streak in Second Half
6 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts was absolutely on fire prior to the All-Star break. In his past 15 games, the 25-year-old is carrying a .304/.403/.643 slash line with four homers, 20 RBI, and 12 runs scored. Bogaerts is now batting .284 on the season with 16 home runs and 64 RBI. He has already surpassed his home run and RBI totals from last season in 261 fewer at-bats. Bogaerts is on pace to put up career-best numbers across the board and is one of the premier offensive shortstops in the American League. He and the Red Sox will be back in action on Friday afternoon against Michael Fulmer and the Detroit Tigers.
