Luke List is Playing Well Coming Into Carnoustie
6 years agoLuke List fired a 15-under par at the Scottish Open, finishing in a share of third place. The American got off to a blistering seven-under 63 start on Thursday, which just so happened to be the lowest round ever shot at the Gullane course in Scotland. Back-to-back rounds of 69 on Friday and Saturday drifted him down the leaderboard, but List was able to rebound with another explosive six-under 64 on Sunday. List, whose first major appearance came in 2003, has only made one of his six career cuts in Major tournaments, which includes no career starts at the Open Championship. The 33-year-old is ranked 10th in strokes gained tee to green in his last 24 rounds compared to the field but is a worrisome 82nd in sand saves and 85th in scrambling. It is hard to imagine that List will be able to compete during his first Open Championship ever but stranger things have happened.
