George Springer An All-Star Despite Slump
6 years agoHouston Astros outfielder George Springer will make his second All-Star appearance on Tuesday despite being mired in a deep slump. In the first two months of the season, Springer hit .280 with a .476 slugging percentage, 11 home runs, 13 doubles, 34 runs batted in and 41 runs scored through 228 at-bats. But the season has careened out of control over the last 150 at-bats, hitting .200 with a .295 slugging, four home runs, five doubles and only 12 runs batted in. Springer is too talented to not snap out of it but this is a prolonged slump for one of the streakier hitters in the game.
