Kenley Jansen Notches 26th Save Of Season Thursday
Kenley Jansen was at it again Thursday, earning his 26th save (third-most in baseball) of the season in a 3-2 game against the Padres. Jansen entered for the ninth inning up by a run and shut the door, allowing no runs on no hits and a walk with a strikeout. The All-Star now has a 2.33 ERA in 44 1/3 IP. His 9.34 K/9 rate is down quite a bit from his career 13.59 K/9 rate, but fantasy owners have little to complain about given Jansen's top performance yet again this season.

Kenley Jansen Picks Up Third Save On Tuesday
Kenley Jansen tossed a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. Jansen made things interesting in the frame, working around two walks while notching two strikeouts, to earn his third save in as many chances in the early portion of the season. Overall, the veteran closer has yet to allow an earned run over five innings of work this year while striking out six. He will look to continue his strong start to the season for an Angels team that has been a pleasant surprise with a 7-3 record in the early going.

Kenley Jansen Picks Up First Save With The Angels
Kenley Jansen allowed one walk while striking out two over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Chicago White Sox. Jansen entered the ninth inning to protect a one-run lead. The veteran right-hander needed 19 pitches to notch his first save with the Angels this season. Jansen signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Angels this offseason to be the team's primary closer. The 37-year-old notched 27 saves with Boston last season while posting a 3.29 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. Jansen is currently fourth on the all-time list for saves with 448 and is only 31 saves away from surpassing Lee Smith for third all-time.

Kenley Jansen To Pitch On Saturday
Kenley Jansen (shoulder) is scheduled to make his spring training debut against the Athletics on Saturday. Jansen missed the end of last season due to shoulder inflammation, but it wasn't expected to be an issue heading into the 2025 season. Jansen signed a one-year deal with the Angels over the offseason. The assumption is that Jansen will operate as the closer given he's 32 saves away from passing Lee Smith for third in all time in career save. Ben Joyce will likely operate as the set-up man and learn behind Jansen before taking over as the closer of the future in Los Angeles.

Kenley Jansen Agrees To Contract With Angels
Kenley Jansen has agreed to a one-year, $10 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday. Jansen has spent the last two seasons with the Boston Red Sox after a brief stint with the Atlanta Braves and a long tenure with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Last season, Jansen posted a 3.29 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP across 54 2/3 innings. He struck out 62 batters and tallied 27 saves. He ended the season on the injured list with a shoulder injury but is not expected to be limited during spring training. He posted a below-average 9.2 percent walk rate but was able to limit hard contact with a strong 37.0 percent hard-hit rate. He also generated a 3.24 xERA and a .208 xBA, which placed him in the 82nd and 86th percentile, respectively. He has tallied at least 25 saves in each of the past four seasons. Joining the Angels, fantasy managers should expect Jansen to operate as the top ninth-inning option, which will move Ben Joyce to a setup role.
