Brett Gardner Goes Yard Twice In Victory
6 years agoWith Luis Severino far from his usual self on the mound, the New York Yankees would once again have to rely heavily on offense to pick up a victory. Taking on the Cleveland Indians on the road, the unit was spearheaded by leadoff man Brett Gardner, whose two home runs and three RBI led the way. While the 34-year-old hasn’t consistently produced, he seems to pick significant spots to come up big and Thursday was another one of those instances. It seems unlikely that he’ll match or surpass his home run total from last season, which happened to be a personal best, but he’s already past his 2017 total and should once again finish in the upper teens.
