Connor Hellebuyck Signs Six-Year Deal With Jets
6 years agoThe Winnipeg Jets agreed to terms on a six-year, $37 million contract to retain the services of starting goaltender Connor Hellebuyck on Thursday. Hellebuyck, coming off a spectacular 2017-2018 season in which he posted 44 wins, a 2.36 goals-against-average and a .924 save percentage, finished second in voting for the Vezina Trophy as the league's top netminder. The 25-year-old's 44 wins broke a record (set by Tom Barrasso in 1992-1993) for the most wins in NHL history from an American goaltender. Hellebuyck has emerged as a top-flight fantasy goaltender option and will likely be taken anywhere in the second or third round of most standard fantasy hockey leagues.
