Gerardo Parra's Slump Continues
6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Gerardo Parra entered the season as the aging veteran who had a whole row of top prospects stacked behind him, but he's played well enough all season to stave off the gang. He's had a few more off days than in years past, but otherwise, he's been a dependable bat that has hit about .300 while knocking out a few homers and stealing a handful of bases. July hasn't been kind to him so far though. Over his last nine games, Parra is hitting just .192 with a lone extra-base hit. Since he doesn't walk much either, the doldrums are doubly noticeable. With a bevy of prospects hunting for playing time, slumps aren't good for Gerardo's future.
