Drew Anderson Shaky In First Start
6 years agoMaking the first major league start of his career, Philadelphia Phillies starter Drew Anderson wasn’t chaotic, but wasn’t exactly effective, taking a loss against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Taking the hill Sunday afternoon, the 24-year-old went just five innings, allowing four runs, and although he wasn’t exactly helped out by his offense, he took the loss. Yacksel Rios was sent down to Triple-A Lehigh Valley to make room for Anderson, who was sporting a 4.15 ERA this season. Although it wasn’t an impressive outing, any possible setback for Vince Velasquez will likely mean Anderson has another start with the Phillies.
