Nick Williams Triple Sets Off Comeback
6 years agoAfter six innings in Pittsburgh on Saturday, the Philadelphia Phillies trailed the Pirates by two runs. In the seventh, however, they would score three runs to take the lead for good, and the scoring was ignited by outfielder Nick Williams. The 24-year-old stepped to the plate with Carlos Santana on and delivered a triple to right field, scoring the first run and cutting the deficit in half. The Phillies would add two more before the bullpen held on for the win. Williams, for his part, has picked up the pace over his last seven games, hitting .316 with a home run and three RBI.
