6 years agoChicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant (shoulder) took successful batting practice Saturday morning. Manager Joe Maddon said Bryant will likely go on a rehab assignment before returning to the lineup. He did not say when that will happen or if Bryant is ready to start a rehab assignment, but it would presumably be soon or he would not be saying it. Bryant had a setback with his return originally and the Cubs will likely be extra cautious because of that. A return before the All-Star break is getting more difficult as time goes on, but Saturday was definitely a step in the right direction.--Feldman Zach
