6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Steven Souza Jr. went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Padres. As he has all season long, Souza struggled to put the ball in play and now holds a 27.5 percent strikeout rate on the season. It will likely take Souza a few games to get up to speed after multiple lengthy disabled list stays. However, if fully healthy, he will need to compete with Jon Jay, David Peralta and eventually Jarrod Dyson for starts in the outfield. Souza and Peralta are the ideal candidates for those positions, but Souza will need to start hitting or he will be on the bench more often moving forward.--Jonathan Chan - Rotoballer
