Kyle Higashioka Hits Second Home Run In Three Days
6 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Kyle Higashioka’s struggles were well-documented heading into this weekend. The 28-year-old had failed to get a hit through the first 22 plate appearances of his major league career, a cruel streak that stretched back to last season. On Sunday, however, he broke out with a home run. Tuesday night against the Atlanta Braves it was time for an encore, as he smashed a second career home run in his first plate appearance of the game. The second-inning shot pushed New York's lead to 4-0, and they’d eventually prevail 8-5. While Higashioka’s time in the majors is temporary, this stretch of three days must work wonders for his confidence at the plate moving forward.
