Jonathan Loaisiga Demoted After No-Decision
6 years agoThe New York Yankees suffered a frustrating, extra-inning defeat to the Atlanta Braves in the Bronx on Monday night and made some moves afterward. Jonathan Loaisiga, who started the game, was sent down to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after the game, making way for A.J. Cole. The 23-year-old lasted just four innings, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out three. He was constantly in deep counts, however, resulting in a 92 pitch count on the day. While manager Aaron Boone stated he may return to pitch one of the two games during the club’s upcoming doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles, Loaisiga's spot in the rotation seems to be in major trouble moving forward.
