Jorge Polanco Reinstated, Adalberto Mejia Optioned
6 years agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Jorge Polanco will officially be reinstated to the active roster on Monday. Polanco has been in the minors since serving an 80-game suspension for failing a performance-enhancing drug test. He's been hot down there, going 8-for-19 with a home run, so the Twins have deemed it time for him to join the big league club. To make room, the Twins have optioned pitcher Adalberto Mejia, designated outfielder Ryan LaMarre for assignment, and placed Ehire Adrianza (hamstring) on the disabled list. Polanco's power made him one of the best hitters on the Twins during the second half of the 2017 season. They had high hopes for him before his suspension. With that said, while those in standard leagues may be able to take a wait-and-see approach with him, owners in deeper leagues should definitely grab Polanco off the waiver wire if he's available.
