Mike Green Reportedly Staying with Red Wings
6 years agoDetroit Red Wings defenseman Mike Green has reportedly reached a two-year agreement with the team worth $10.75 million. Coming off of a 33 point season in Detroit that ended early due to a neck injury, Green is taking a pay cut to stay with the Red Wings. Regarded as one of the top available offensive defensemen in this year's free agent class, Green will likely retain his spot on Detroit's top power-play unit. Green has scored between 33 and 36 points in his three seasons with Detroit and is a relatively safe bet to replicate those numbers this season. He adds a bit more value with his role on the power-play, but aside from an occasional streaming play, he will have little fantasy value.
