Miguel Andujar Drives In Three In Easy Win
6 years agoHeading into Friday’s pivotal series opener against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium, third baseman Miguel Andujar was in the midst of a major slump. Aside from the fact that he’s wrapping up his worst hitting month of the season, with a year-low .250 average, as of late, he was hitting worse. In the seven most recent games prior to Friday’s, he was hitting .115, but he showed up at the right time for his club. The Yankees went on to win the game against the Red Sox, 8-1, with Andujar leading the way with three hits. His first came in the second inning, as a bloop single drove in the game’s first run, while the second came in the fourth inning via a two-run home run. The 23-year-old now has 12 home runs and 38 RBI in his rookie season.
