Greg Bird Out, Neil Walker In For Yankees
6 years agoStruggling New York Yankees first baseman Greg Bird will be given the night off on Wednesday as the club seeks a sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. The 25-year-old has been abysmal since making his season debut following ankle surgery. Bird is hitting only .193 with three home runs and six RBI but has been even worse as of late, hitting just .118 across the past seven games. Neil Walker, who was signed in spring training back when second and third base were concerns for the Yankees, will start at first and bat seventh.
