Dominant Luis Severino Rolls Over Philadelphia
6 years agoIt seems that every time New York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino pitches, he walks away leading the league in wins, and Tuesday night wasn’t any different. The 24-year-old stymied Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park, firing seven shutout innings with six hits and no walks allowed. He also struck out nine, lowering his ERA to 2.12 while picking up his league-leading 12th victory. As June comes to a close, Severino’s ERA for the month is now at 2.03, the same as it was in May. He still has yet to allow more than three runs in an outing since the second week of April and is looking like a major player in the Cy Young discussion.
