Lorenzo Cain Lands On DL, Keon Broxton Called Up
7 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers placed outfielder Lorenzo Cain (groin) on the 10-day disabled list on Tuesday with a left groin strain. In a corresponding move, outfielder Keon Broxton was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs. Cain leads the National League in wins above replacement but has been injured since the weekend. He was hitting .291 with eight home runs and 26 RBI in his first season with Milwaukee and needs to be stashed in all formats. Broxton hit just .220 with the Brew Crew in 2017 but had 20 home runs and 21 stolen bases. He was hitting .263 with nine dingers and 24 steals in 72 games for Triple-A before his call-up. He can be a useful asset in both the speed and power departments for owners in mixed leagues, and Broxton should see regular playing time with Cain injured and Domingo Santana in the minors.
