Jonathan Loaisiga Bounces Back In Victory
6 years agoIn his third professional start with the New York Yankees, starter Jonathan Loaisiga bounced back with a victory, taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning. Taking on the Phillies in Philadelphia for his first National League start, he went 5 1/3 innings, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out eight in a scoreless outing. Aside from his 86-pitch performance, he struck out twice at the plate. The key for Loaisiga was first-pitch strikes, delivering them to 12 of the 19 batters he faced. While not a quality start by definition, the Nicaraguan provided his club a terrific start that while brief, managed to set up an eventual victory.
