Giancarlo Stanton Picks Up Five Hits In Defeat
6 years agoAlthough the New York Yankees would get swept by the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday afternoon, outfielder Giancarlo Stanton continued his recent form of terrific production at the plate. The reigning NL MVP had six plate appearances, recording five hits and walking in his final turn at bat. He smashed another home run, his third the past week and 19th altogether, now tied for the team lead. Over the past seven games, the 28-year-old is hitting .448 and perhaps most impressively, the home run hitter is now leading the Yankees in hits. In his current form, he should continue being started in all leagues as his home run surge could very well continue.
