Stars Sign Stephen Johns To Three-Year Contract Extension
6 years agoThe Dallas Stars have announced that the team has signed defenseman Stephen Johns to a three-year contract extension (worth $7 million) on Friday. Johns, a physical two-way blue liner, posted a career-high 15 points (eight goals, seven assists) as well as 41 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating last season. Johns is a valuable fantasy option in leagues that count hits and/or blocked shots, as the 26-year-old registered 155 and 201 in each respective category. Acquired along with Patrick Sharp by the Stars back in 2015, Johns' offensive game still has room to grow and as a result, the Pennsylvania native might be worth a late-round flier in standard leagues as well next season.
