Islanders Take Oliver Wahlstrom 11th Overall
6 years agoThe New York Islanders chose Oliver Wahlstrom with the 11th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. The Islanders add Whalstrom to a young, developing offensive core in their first of back-to-back first-round picks. Wahlstrom is expected to play for Boston College next year, but the sharpshooter could carve out a spot next to Calder Cup winner Matthew Barzal in the future. After scoring 94 points in 62 games for the U18 US National Development team this year, Wahlstrom has established that he is a naturally-gifted goal scorer and with another season of development, he could become a true offensive threat in the NHL.
