Mavericks Take Jalen Brunson With 33rd Pick
6 years agoThe Dallas Mavericks drafted Villanova point guard Jalen Brunson with the 33rd overall selection in the draft. Brunson was the NCAA Player of the Year last year. He averaged 18.9 points and 4.6 assists per contest while shooting 52 percent from the field. The Mavericks will have Brunson compete for backup point guard duties with current backup point guard J.J. Barea. Due to Barea’s advanced age and contract situation after next year, Brunson’s role with the Mavs should increase as the season progresses. Brunson should be a wait-and-see option for fantasy players in anything besides dynasty leagues.
