Clippers Trade Up For Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
6 years agoThe Los Angeles Clippers have traded with the Charlotte Hornets for the 11th overall pick, Kentucky point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. With Patrick Beverley injured and Milos Teodosic rumored to be on his way out of Los Angeles, the Clippers had a need at the point guard position and picked a player who had been rising up draft boards in recent weeks. Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 14.4 points, 5.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game for the Wildcats last season. At 6-foot-6, Gilgeous-Alexander projects to be a solid defender at the next level and should be able to make most passes, but there are concerns about his jump shooting and his athleticism. Still, he could be a fantasy sleeper, as the competition for the starting point guard job in Los Angeles is fairly open.
