6 years agoAccording to new reports, the market for third basemen is heating up as we approach July, with a couple of major names circulating. While Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado, who is approaching free agency, is the biggest name being discussed in trade talks, the Philadelphia Phillies are reportedly considering veteran Adrian Beltre of the Texas Rangers. While the club currently features Maikel Franco as the starting third baseman, Beltre’s veteran presence and current form has caught the eye of plenty. The Phillies have a very young team and would benefit greatly from Beltre, who is hitting .302 in his 21st professional season.--RDelgado
